May 31, 2023Yves Zurbuchen has been an integral part of our laboratory since 2015 when he joined the lab as an enthusiastic and exceptionally motivated second year medical student. First as an intern, later as medical master's student and finally as MD-PhD student, he contributed significantly to various projects related to the memory capacity of the adaptive immune system. His research focused on investigating the mechanisms that underlie the generation and maintenance of immune memory, which is crucial for effective protection against pathogens.
Throughout his time in our lab, Yves has demonstrated outstanding scientific aptitude and curiosity. He has successfully collaborated with his colleagues, mentored new lab members, and never missed an opportunity to impress his peers with his knowledge of everything from trivia to scientific literature.
We have no doubt that he will have great success in his future endeavors. He will start as an assistant doctor in the internal medicine department of the Kantonsspital Zug.
